National Airsoft Girls are currently seeing who would like to particpate in this course. If you are interested in attending please speak to our lead organiser about dates and prices.
Many people give thought to how they might prepare for some kind of national or local emergency. Anything from flooding to an influenza pandemic through to total socio-economic breakdown.
All kinds of guidelines exist from governments, health authorities and scientists but reading an advice leaflet is no substitute for quality, hands-on emergency preparedness training or urban survival training.
Trueways Urban Preparedness Training and Urban Survival Courses provide practical, hands-on training and information to allow you to cope with emergencies at any level, from small scale, short term problems disrupting local services (such as severe localised flooding) right through to national or international catastrophic disasters on a scale we rarely suffer but which keep occurring, such as the tsunami in the far east in 2004 or the worldwide influenza outbreaks which have happened three times in the last century and wiMaybe we think it’s always elsewhere, only seeing these things on TV or in the papers, but one day… it could be YOU!

St Valentines Day Massacre – Women Play for FREE!!!
St Valentines Day Massacre at Bristol Airsoft
Games Calendar:Click here
To mark the 81st Anniversary of Al Capone’s infamous massacre of five members of Bugs Moran’s gang during the prohibition wars of Chicago, we’re running a very special offer at Bristol Airsoft.nnn
Now as we all know, behind every successful man is a cunning woman – In Al Capone’s case it was his dear old mother ‘Mama Capone’ – reputedly the most feared woman in Gangland Chicago – that got him to the very top of his profession.
So, to mark the St Valentines Day Massacre and to honour the memory of Mama Capone (and of course to give our Bristol Airsoft Gangsters some serious airsoft competition!!), we’re going to make all of you airsoft girls out there an OFFER YOU CAN’T REFUSE!
During Valentine Week
Women play for FREE!!
And for the BOYS – Turn up to one of our games in full Gangster Fancy Dress (including original 1930s spats and Tommy gun) and you’ll play for FREE too!!! If you can find this we’ll buy you lunch aswell.
This was a day organised by the fantastic people of Invicta Airsoft, and as I boarded the coach (with an awesome hangover!!) and settled into my seat the enthusiasm was buzzing in the air.
We arrived at Lewisham FCS and prepped our equipment and guns and got essential supplies sorted for the day and then we had to report to the briefing room.
Once in the briefing room we were brief of what would happen and how things would work and then we were dropped deep into a role-play world of survival horror. We started the day by being taken to complete our 14 day training course with the Invicta Corporation for me as part of the covert ops team this was knife skills and pistol shooting and then we went on to room clearance.
During a room clearance exercise one of the demo team suddenly fell to the floor and started coughing and convulsing and we were ordered back to the briefing room until the medical team had checked him out for safety reasons all the rifles were stored on the second floor and only covert operators were allowed to carry weapons. While we were in the briefing room waiting to return to our training we could see what was happening upstairs via video link and the fallen man suddenly attacked the medics sent to help him and we lost contacted with the others in the area, so we were deployed to find out what was going on!
As we moved tactically through the lower levels and up the stairs and up to the second floor to recover our rifles the chaos began, we were attacked by well to put it simply ZOMBIES!!!
We managed to fend off the first wave and make our way to the upper level where we found a scientist who need to be safely returned to the briefing room which had now become our stronghold against the zombie horde, once we had him in a position of safety the scientist informed he was a biologist of some kind with basic medical training which was good as we had taken some causalities, sadly he needed some equipment, and so we were to go back out and find the equipment.
Again we climbed the stairs leading to the upper levels and moved through the rooms clearing them as we went making our way to the upper levels where we had to recover a laptop, poison kit and a gasmask. As we were retrieving these items we were attacked again by the undead the gasmask and laptop were recovered and returned to the briefing room leaving just three of us to search for a poison kit while hordes of zombies launched at us, however we were able to achieve our goal and not only did we recover the kit but also a girl who we later found out work for the Invicta corporation, we made it back to the briefing room just as we were getting ready to go out and capture a test subject one of our team (Donna, of National airsoft girls) was drag from the room by the zombies and killed becoming one of them.
And then in typical survival horror style the lights went out! , and to our surprise the fuse box was on the upper level (didn’t see that one coming!!), and so we ventured out again, we lost several people on the way through the second floor and several more when we got there including myself, as one of my team mates was set upon I tried to help but was attacked myself losing my rifle in the process and having to resort to my trusty knife I began to stab at the zombies as they massed around me and ate me!!
Good thing about getting bitten by zombies is when they have had their fill and leave you be, you tend to return to the land of the slightly not so much living and have a craving for brain matter and special forces types, which is rather handy when you are slowly moving around a building full of them.
My first act as a zombie was to try and storm the briefing room with my undead brothers, as we banged on the doors and tried to pull them for their comfy safe room they tried to shoot us again and again. After a while we gave up on trying to get in and decided to go and wait for them in the darkness attacking and jumping them as they came to achieve their goals.
The day ended in a final battle the surviving members of the original team had to rescue an elite Special Forces team from the upper level and get them back to the front door unharmed and with the zombie horde now quite large this was no easy task, with zombies attacking them in a constant barrage a few members managed to get them to safety and stay alive.
This was my first zombie experience and road trip with the people of Invicta Airsoft and I have to say I hope it won’t be my last, the zombie day was just brilliant and even playing a zombie once I had died was great fun and the guys that play with Invicta Airsoft are all great players and we all had a great day most of us tired or asleep for the journey home.
A huge thank you to the organiser of this event and the staff of Lewisham FCS.

The venue is a training facility for the Invicta Corporation, providing tactical and combative training to their security forces, as well as specialised training programmes to military and law-enforcement personnel. Candidates will be there to take Level 2 of a multi-ti…er course in either Close-Quarter-Combat (Mercs) or Covert Operations (Police/Task Force). Upon graduation, they will receive highly paid (and sought after) positions in the elite Invicta Corporate Security division (ICS). Other divisions include Invicta Medical Services (IMS), Invicta Armaments (IA), and Invicta Consultancy Services (InviCon). Candidates will arrive, kit up, and will receive tactical training from their assigned instructors. Several Invicta veterans and facility staff will also be on hand to ensure that their arrival and orientation go smoothly. After the introductory modules of the course (using training weapons), the context-training and live-fire modules will begin. Candidates are advised to arrive in an alert and attentive state. Invicta Corp will be watching…
The high-octane, gun-toting, bad-assery of the mercs, or the shadowy and sinister world of the covert operative? Both will have a part to play in the upcoming zombie-fest, Day of the Dead. Which side will you be joining, and why?
WHICH TEAM WILL YOU BE IN!?!?!??!?!? (Prepare for both)
Invicta Corporate Security, Military wing
[aka. Mercenaries] Dress code: Assault loadout (platecarriers, assault rifles, etc…) L2 of the CQC course will introduce the candidates to dynamic entry and multi-room combat. Candidates will be expected to display a high level of unit cohesion and discipline if the…y are to pass this module. Quick reactions, physical fitness, and weapon accuracy are also required (though if the candidate has passed L1, these skills would already have been evaluated and approved). As usual, ICS will be on the lookout for good leadership potential in individuals. Graduates will be invited to join Invicta Corp’s military wing.
Invicta Corporate Security, Intelligence wing
[aka. Police/Task Force] Dress code: Covert loadout (civilian, jacket, pistol etc…) L2 of the covert operations will introduce the candidates to concealed carry (pistol) and edged weapon tactics. Candidates will be expected to display a high level of environmental a…wareness and remain calm under pressure. Covert operatives must be able to adapt to any situation, infiltrate organisations undercover, and in the field they may find themselves working as individuals, or as part of a team, at a moment’s notice. Graduates will be invited to join ICS’ intelligence wing.
Please See our slide show for further pictures of the event.
A personal account is below from Matt Houghton who had attended the event with his partner Gemma Clarke.
Revolutionaries harking from Bristol, descended upon the lands of the south, the morning crisp, cold and good spirited, dressed in black and ready to attack.
Gemma Clarke and Paul Richards
The weekend started in great spirit with an attack and defence upon the village, much humour and sportsmanship was had between me and my Nemesis behind a hut as we both failed to get each other on many occasions at near point blank range !!! eventually taking each other out simultaneously, leaving the Field with a big smile a laugh and a hand shake.
Matt Houghton
Teething problems at the start of the day did not hamper my fun as we Bristolian’s decided to rank up the aggression and play in our normal lucid crazy Celtic style.
Christina & Jamie (as spotter..since her gun went down, gemma on other side of tree giving support fire)
Second day is where the event shinned its brightest, by now we had a better idea of the sites layout, and my fellow Paul and my self went on a harassment mission of drawing the enemy away from our objectives, after loosing the rest of our team, for which I blame a lack of commissars to quell these partizan’s fears, our deadly duo managed to keep the enemy at bay in the fortress, as more partizan’s retreated as the day went on, it came to a point that our attack force numbered three, with two of us now keeping the entire enemy at bay in the fortress, but our enemy where as cunning as they where numerous, and they had a small squad on the outskirts doing lightning raids on our “Army of Two”, My ammo was very low, and I feverishly reloaded my mag as fast as possible while the enemy closed in, with a fast reaction pop up aim and snap shot, I took out their saw gunner through my window, and the opposite door and window of the building opposite, the SAW gunner reeled back in shock and awe, with my fellow comrade running out to both confirm the kill and ensure no serous harm was done.
Support Gunner Mitch hill
Our “Army of Two” managed to defend our position from attack from all sides, but most importantly the banter was good, it was fun, and full of good sportsmanship.
Bernie & Will
A very enjoyable event all round with the “Army of Two” moment with me and my fellow comrade Paul being a pleasure and a highlight and the adrenalin rush that makes a game day a great game day, and I feel non of this would have been possible without the sterling good consistent work of the marshals.

And best of all, i made some new freinds and got to put some faces to names, wich is never a bad thing, and is what makes such events the great things they are.

Just a big thanks to the guys at PTT @ Platoon Stores for putting on yet another great days fun.
Had a brilliant afternoon there. Set out as a rotation event afternoon, going from one part of the site to another split into three groups was fun. Made it feel like sports day at school !
First session was a stalker type, turn your back and they come hunting turn round and fire!.. yeh one bloke had very sore ball balls at the end of it . Next being a full on fire fight down in the old eerie dark kill house (its a fort so imagine castle dungeons!) , very cqb, very painful but a lot of fun. Next on from that a short training session on fire manoeuvre drills with mag changes. Santa fun Thanks to Bez and James for that very well taught . Congrats to Sam and her better half Tony who done it smoothly and best out of the lot . Late afternoon seen us playing a couple more games it was all about the santa fun and then the heavens opened. Thanks to Pete and the marshalls for a great day!
oh and thanks to Fran and her famous Chocolate cake, was amazing

First this is one of the best sites that I have played at since starting Airsoft; the site is quite simply the old Harold Wood hospital and it has been used in the film 28 days later, and in several TV shows, we were lucky enough to see some of the parts of the site that are not in play due to using it for the latest N.A.G. photo shoot, this was mainly the morgue which was just awesome.
Donna and Andy AWA photoshoot in the morgue
Christina by lifts Opfor style
The second area is a two storey hospital building located across the road from the safe zone area, this has loads to offer in features with labs and computer rooms, reception areas and waiting rooms and on the upper levels is what is referred to as the blood room (this is because it was used for filming and is covered in fake blood an awesome sight not for the faint hearted or people that go all weird at the sight of a bit of the red stuff!), As for the airsoft side of things the site has three main locations the first being the safe zone which is in the old social club building, which has toilets, a stage and a bar (however the bar only stocks pyro and BB’s these days), a fully working kitchen which lays on a fantastic burger lunch and plenty of room to get your kit sorted and ready to play.
The third area is a five storey office block with accommodation blocks around it. The office block is again just fantastic with dark stair wells and long corridors where you can find operating rooms, wards and offices scattered throughout there are just loads of places to hide and because there is so much room you can find yourself at times and you really get that zombie film feeling as you walk the corridors alone looking for some action. Outside the office block there are old medical student accommodation blocks these are two and three storey buildings with loads of small rooms in them, they are very hard to penetrate as we found out the hard way. A point to note in these buildings is check your corners in each room and the cupboards, you’ll come out of here with a few bruises or small blooded blotches and your ears ringing but I guarantee you will still have a smile on your face at the end of the day.
Christina and Samantha doing dry run on stairwells
The site itself has been in use by the police as a training area and it is great from room entry and CQB tactics and if the police haven’t blow them all off there are still the odd door or two you can kick in, and as you fill the corridors with pyro you can’t help but chuckle as the smoke alarms begin to ring.
The site recommends a full face mask and having played here I can see why, if you are going to play here you must expect some painful close up hits as many of the areas are very tight, but this said the sportsman ship was simply brilliant, even with the occasional person getting severely slotted everyone had smiles on their faces at the end of each game and all where comparing injuries and war stories.
From the point of view of the N.A.G players present with a small amount of instruction from our in-house trainer the girls dominated several times leading attacks and pushing the guys out of the way to get stuck into the combat and it has to be said that the team we took only had four experienced players and the others where all airsoft virgins or still fairly new to the sport and we still managed to make a lasting impression.
Donna, Christina, Emily
This just leaves me to say thank you to Curly and the staff that made the day possible and the team S.O.A.R guys who played alongside us during the day and have become great airsoft allies.

Review
Paintball and Airsoft Battle tactics is Chrsitopher Larsen’s latest book that helps translate small unit battle tactics to paintball and airsoft, derived mainly from his previous book ‘Light Infantry Tactics: Small Teams’ The latter is already a must-read book for many airsoft players worldwide. This book covers many areas neede by the serious milsim ( military simulation ) player…Overall, the main sections of this book are developing individual skills, team battle drills, and team tactics. For 128 pages this book already covers more than enough topics for an airsoft team to follow in terms of participation in milsim events. Lrson writes that the individual skills that need to be developed are warrior skills and leadership ones. These should be taken seperatley and together as a leader withou warrior skills cannot motivate his team into action even with a sound battle plan. For most team members, warrior skills are important as these contain basic skills needed to survive and win in combat or in real life. Warrior skills cover camouflauge, hand signals, individual movment techniques, fighting positions, tactical communication, whilst leadership skills cover troop leading positions, pre-battle inspections, and after-cation review (AAR). My take on this is that the average airsofter developes the first four skills as he/she skirmishes along, with tactical communication being an afterthought. While the leadership skills in actual airsoft situations are on an impromptu basis.Only a tightly-integrated team with a chain of command can actually fully impliment these required warrior and leadership skills. In reality, many airsoft teams are informal orgonisations, gathering to play at weekends or days off and no practise is done to enhance battle tactics or skills….I will stress this again. This book is for the serious milism player and not for the casual airsoft player who just cares about doing the basic techniques of airsoft and not full blown field training exercises (FTE) where scenarios cover all the field trainig and battle plans the book covers. I totally agree with most of waht is written as these are validated tactics honed over thousnads of years of human conflict. But before one implements the elements of this book there are preconditions to be met: a cohesive and disciplined team; a clear chain of command and team responsibilities; a very regular team schedule;a commitment to practise all drills;a set of standarad operating procedures(SOP)….Any airsoftner who has had military experience will know having preconditions met leads towards a good team. However, with airsoft being mainly a recreational hobby for many players, this books searches for that niche of airsoft player who are heavily into milsim, a small but growing within the airsof community…this book shows that conflict, real or simulated, is won or lost by small units or larger groups in the form of platoons, companies, battalions, divisions, and armies…Easily understood by any reader who is intimidated by military doctrine or jargon, Larsen deals on the common-sense side of military battle tactics as applied to paintball and airsoft….read throguh the book, you will have flash backs of skirmishes in which you have developed tactcs and troop movements without realising that they are sound small team battle tactics such as flanking, hasty ambushes, movment to contact and group overwatches. But there is more to small team battle tactics and drills beside those. This book stresses the importance of security, tactical communications(not soley radio, but also verbal within and in between units)and one thing that is always ignored – reconnisance….I would recommend this book to all airsoft players since it contains almost everything you need to know to develope the skills to be an effective team or unit. –Popular Airsoft Magazine
I received this book 1 months ago. When I knew this book is written by Christopher Larsen, I know that this indeed would be the definitive guide to any airsoft or paintball player. If you don’t understand what I mean, Chris Larsen is also the author of the book “Light Infantry Tactics: Small Teams”, which already is a reference book for many airsoft players (..and quite possible, for real soldiers too). Many materials in “Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics” are derived from “Light Infantry Tactics…”, but adjusted with airsoft & paintball players in mind. Nevertheless, the tactics and the battle-drills are the same regardless of whether you are fighting a real battle or just a wargame. The only difference are: the range of the weapons (and “weapons”) and the lethality (and “lethality”) involved are of course incomparable. Some of the materials in the book include: why and how to camouflage, handsignals techniques, leadership skills, infantry movement techniques, and battledrills for offensive, defensive and special operations. The methods explained typically apply to unit size from fireteam to platoon level. What this book differs from “Light Infantry Tactics” is on the emphasis to airsoft & paintball, taking into account the characteristics of both games. It also has a lot more schemes and color photographs which is very helpful in understanding the concepts. One of the many things I like very much from this book, is that it’s written in an easily understood language to explain technical military concepts (if you ever read military references such as US Army Field Manuals etc, they usually tends to be heavily conceptual or technical AND voluminious- which can be quite intimidating to some). However there is some areas in this book that needs an improvement: a discussion about “human factor”. I wish it had another chapter which discusses the human factor such as: morale, overcoming hesitation and fear, how to motivate teammates – a very critical element to mission success. Nonetheless, this book surely enhances our understanding on how to fight and how to fight as a team. Discuss and practice the materials with your teammates, and your team will benefit in battle. –Nanung Indonesia
It can be as playful as party game, part of a business training course, or as dead serious as military training for a coming deployment. But whatever your approach to paintball or Airsoft, there is rules to learn, tactics to be considered, variations to learn, equipment, terrain, clothing to consider. In every instance, this book has the answers. The ultimate resource for this popular sport for weekend warriors and military simulators, this book helps novice players and veterans alike to hone their skills and sharpen their understanding of the art and science of MilSlim strategy and tactics. Written by a military analyst with experience of training combatants around the world, this paintball and Airsoft tactician s bible refresher and refocuses the military simulator, but does not stop there: it fosters, mentors, and challenges both the apprentice and maestro with basic individual leadership skills, team drills, and intermediate patrolling operations, covering all the necessities for waging paintball and Airsoft combat successfully at the team level. –Arnie’s Airsoft news

Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics [Illustrated] (Paperback)
Small Unit Leadership: A Commonsense Approach (Paperback)

In the Illustrated Manual of Sniper Skills, Mark Spicer draws on his extensive experience to reveal the secrets of his craft. Spicer s credentials are too vast to list here in their entirety, but suffice it to say that when it comes to combat, he s seen it all, and when it comes to snipers operating today, he likely had a hand in training them all –Military Book club
Written by former British Army officer and sniper expert Mark Spicer, this is a masterclass in the deadly art of sniping, and encompasses technique, evaluation, screening processes, survival skills, teamwork, spotting, ballistics, and logistical marksmanship and camouflage, plus of course weapons. Highly recommended. –Soldier Magazine
Few Sporting Shooter readers have any connection with military sniping – but many of the skills in this excellent manual by sniper instructor Mark Spicer are useful for deer and pest control too –Sporting Shooter

Sniper One: The Blistering True Story of a British Battle Group Under Siege (Paperback)
Review
Another testosterone-laced memoir of an elite unit kicking butt in Iraq, this one with a cheerful, politically incorrect British twist.Having missed out on Operation Iraqi Freedom a year earlier, the author’s 15-man sniper platoon in the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment was thrilled to learn in April 2004 that it was finally shipping overseas on a “peacekeeping” mission. Soldiers whose enlistment was expiring eagerly signed up again. Arriving in Iraq, Mills and his men cringed at the heat, loathed the poor sanitation, pitied the poverty, despised Iraqi police, Iraqi soldiers and all civilian superiors, but loved the American forces’ vast arsenal and luxurious amenities. Their assignment took them to a large city – lacking, the author repeats, sewage and trash collection – where they quickly walked into an ambush and found themselves enmeshed in a vicious insurgency. Mostly, they defended their base in the city center and fought as infantry, but circumstances often required their specialty, so readers looking for technical details about sniping will not be disappointed. Mills, an 18-year veteran of tours in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Bosnia, never conceals his and his men’s love of fighting. While American career soldiers have been known to admit this in their memoirs, they usually feel obliged to justify it by proclaiming their love of country and reminding readers of the sacrifices our troops make to protect us from hordes of suicidal maniacs. Mills has no interest in defending America’s invasion of Iraq, and he adopts the traditional British soldier’s view of the enemy as wacky foreigners, genuinely dangerous but terrible shots.A military memoir refreshingly devoid of the usual patriotic overlay. ‘A highly-charged, action filled, adrenalin-pumped, page-turning read that, frankly, knocks the socks off all previous British accounts in this genre’

‘Full-on graphic detail … you can practically taste the dust and the cordite’
The Sun
‘The most vivid account ever of total combat on Iraq’s frontline’

We all saw it at once. Half a dozen voices screamed ‘Grenade!’ simultaneously. Then everything went into slow motion. The grenade took an age to travel through its 20 metre arc. A dark, small oval-shaped package of misery the size of a peach … April 2004: Sgt Dan Mills and his platoon of snipers fly into southern Iraq, part of an infantry battalion sent to win hearts and minds. They were soon fighting for their lives. Back home we were told they were peacekeeping. But there was no peace to keep. Because within days of arriving in theatre, Mills and his men were caught up in the longest, most sustained firefight British troops had faced for over fifty years. This awe-inspiring account tells of total war in throat-burning winds and fifty-degree heat, blasted by mortars and surrounded by heavily armed militias. For six months, they fought alone: isolated, besieged and under constant enemy fire. Their heroic stand a modern-day Rorke’s Drift.

‘Contact front! Contact front!’ Immediately we were down on our
knees and aggressively returning fire. Then we slipped away into pairs.
While one bloke got up and sprinted 10 feet back up the alleyway, the other
emptied all the rounds he could in the direction of the gunmen. Then the
pair swapped roles. Fire and Manouevre, fire and manouevre.
It was like the bank robbery scene in ‘Heat’. It’s amazing how well you
remember it all when you need to. But still the RPK poured lead at us. A
whole burst went straight between Smudge’s legs as he was stopping to turn
and cover me.
‘Average?!’ I said as we looked at each other in amazement. Then we

Force-On-Force Police Training Using Airsoft: A Manual for the Law Enforcement Trainer on the Use of Airsoft Non-lethal Technology (Paperback)
Synopsis
In a gunfight, there’s no second place winner…Airsoft is the new frontier in the field of reality-based law enforcement training. Police trainers owe it to the profession and to the safety of all warriors to develop and implement the very best training methods available . Police officers must be trained in realistic, real-life situations with scenarios that elevate the stress level to simulate reality- anything less is unfair to our officers and a disservice to the profession. Airsoft technology fills the gap between static, square range based training and the reality of a dynamic armed confrontation. The technology is easy to master, low cost, and provides a realism to force-on-force training that is difficult to surpass. Force-On-Force Police Training Using Airsoft introduces police trainers to the how-to of using these weapons, the various types available, technical data, and offers sound advice on the safety aspects of reality-based training. This book provides a complete training program and is an essential addition to the police use-of-force instructor’s library.

Bunker CQB Essex This site is located at Marsh farm on the A127 just off the Pitsea flyover coming from the direction of Southend. This is actually a former MOD site, and was a working cold war bunker; with a brilliant refurbishment this site has a lab, computer room, generator room, armoury, missile room and a working Prison cell and all this over two floors. Its also has a sound system connected throughout and a CCTV system that can be viewed online. The site has a large safe zone which is indoors and the guys have added loads of little fun features around the site to make the atmosphere more interesting, and the site can be plunged into darkness and played with flashlights, tac-lights and NVG’s if you’re a die hard player. There is a large central arena room that can be viewed upon from the higher levels, which makes pistol games / and mini shoot ‘em up knock outs a great little extra.
bunker missle room
Smokes are to be avoided at this site due to the bunkers layout and ventalation. This is a great site to don the black kit and go crazy, awesome for pistols and shotgun games. There is nowhere on site to get food so if you do go take plenty of water, although McDonalds, KFC and a 24 hr Tesco are about 5 mins away so food is easy to obtain.
Central Arena
There are toliets on site , Male and Female. Atmosphere was a great one on the day , with the site owner being a very nice laid back guy and very helpful. We had attended the event with Airsoft Essex who had arranged for the hire of this site for the day. There was even military books on sale which were nicely priced. There is a seated/sheltered smoking area outside by the car park. Full face mask is recommend at this place and I would greatly urge you wear one to be able to enjoy the site effectively. Shadowopz Airsoft / Stirling events plan to go to others with NAG
How long have you been in Airsoft:
Only about 10 months
How you got into Airsoft:
Went along with some guy mates to see what all the fuss was about. Got fed up of listening to them bragging about shots and gear. I thought – I could do this, and it might shut them up to get taken down by a girl! It did too!
Do you play alongside many girls?
Not enough- but the ones I have played with are way above the level of any of my male mates! You just don’t see girls doing things like this – why???. It’s only a bit of mud and the occasional bb sting!
What you like about Airsoft:
Keeps you physically fit – works out muscle groups you didn’t even know you had. Good sporting event – men don’t like to lose which makes it all the more fun to kick their asses!
Don’t like about it:
Facilities at the sites (where are all the toilets?!?! we’re not actually out in Basra!) All the waiting around in Mil Sims lol!
The preferred weaponry: (long arm, backup, possible special weapons like a 40-mill) No Idea – too much stuff I haven’t tried yet!? Love the pistol though (baby hi-cap) and the M4 for woodland. Guess the mp5 would have been better for that black ops stuff – I just don’t get on with them on the long shots
Why you prefer to use these weapons:
Pistol is just great fun to use -I love the recoil! M4 shoots so straight you can get good shots in from way back! Sneaky
Clothing and gear set up (Chest rig etc):
I’m a bit of a blank canvas at the mo – just working out what I’ll need to buy and why. Basic woodland colours and I’ve inherited some multi cam (which fits nicely) and I did like wearing the full-on black gear for that training at Coventry
Why you choose to wear these:
Most stuff (mags, drinks etc.) fits in the camo jacket pockets – but do want a rig so that I can start to use comms which makes it so much easier to round people up with your buddy and take them out! Also I like the idea of getting to use a few flash bangs and grenades soon…
Has it had any of your kit & guns had modifications: Probably! I got it from a friend so not sure
Do you see a need for anything specifically in Airsoft that might help girls, clothing, guns, gear, training:
Better facilities at sites – because we can’t pee standing up, and if girls are going to get into this as a hobby and a sport not strange man-role playing) then you have to encourage things like loos and taps! Also it’d be nice if stuff fitted properly. I feel like I’m out in bed sheets in some of the camo it’s so not made to fit women…
What are your feelings on NAG: Love it! This is what the sport needs if it wants to entice women. I know I can ask any questions and advice without having scorn poured upon me by guys who only speak in letters and numbers! I am trying to rope every girl I know into airsoft as it beats slogging at the gym and we’ll be able to fend for ourselves if ever there’s a zombie uprising! Christina who started the whole thing is a tiny tiger and full of good info. She only laughs a little bit when i make military faux pas and she gives good advice and lends gear so I can try before I buy.
What’s your favourite style ( ie woodland, urban, MILSIM, Skirmish) & why: I like woodland loads, not been to an urban game yet but hear they’re the most relentless… looking forward to one soon.
Worse injuries: Nothing more than a whacked head from slipping over on wet floors (must have been the high heels LOL) and a small round pink mark on my back from being sniped!
Any war stories? : Was great fun defending a “militant leader corpse” (shop dummy) while having bbs hailed on us in a tiny shack relentlessly for about an hour! The only time we got to shoot was when the enemies were changing mags!
Walking/mountaineering boots are split into 2 main categories
3 Season – for use during spring, summer & autumn on hills & mountains. They are typically leather or fabric, most are lined with Gortex or EvENT which is a waterproof lining. The have a stiff sole unit which is similar to the soles used in military boots. It is these types of boots which would be a good alternative to military boots. They are often lighter.
4 Season/Winter – these boots are used solely for winter mountaineering/climbing. They would be too extreme for use in airsoft.
As I was saying the major boot manufacturers have realised that the female market is very large and therefore make boots based around a ladies foot which does differ from a mans. They spend large sums of money on design and research to get the best boots. The main leading brands in the boot market are Scarpa, Brasher, Berghaus, Asolo, Meindl, Raichle, The North face and Mammut.
The main retailers in the UK are Cotswold, Field & Trek, Snow & Rock, Ellis Brigham & Blacks. These stores are about on the high street. Most of the major stores have a boot fitting service where the staff are well trained to assist the customer to find the right boot for their feet. One tip I’d give to someone going to try some boots on is to take the socks they’ll wear with them. It does make a big difference in trying them on.
The one downside is that they aren’t military boots and therefore don’t match loadouts etc, however from what I’ve read lately Special Forces units such as the SAS, SBS, Delta & Seals are using these types of boots are they are better than the military alternative.
The other thing we said we drop some information on is packing rucksacks/bergens. Using military rucksack or bergen ladies will also experience problems as their back length isn’t as long as a mans, which is what rucksack design is based around. However a rucksack packed well will go some way to ease the load carrying. The basic principal is to have the heavy items at the bottom of the sack pulled into the lower lumber part of the spine using the belt. You then pack the sack going from heavy to light. Any items that you use frequently need to be carried either in the external pockets of the sack or on another load carrying system. You don’t want to keep having to empty and refill the sack every time you want to get something. Its also important to use the compressions straps to make sure the load is compressed therefore more stable and also to carry the rucksack high up on your shoulders. If the shoulder straps are set correctly then the waist belt will run around your waist basically over your belly button.
I had another thought about the crossover from outdoor wear to skirmish – base layers. Most of the tactical websites sell base layers which are used by the military. A good base layer is made from breathable fabric which allows moisture ’sweat’ to wick away, this is much better than a cotton alternative and they make ranges which are female specific. Again all the outdoor retailers I’ve listed above will sell good base layers either their own brand or brands such as Helly Hansen, The North Face, Crag Hooper, etc. The same is true for underwear, you can get underwear which is designed for active pursuits. It will be made of wicking material and designed to be more comfortable than your M&S alternative.
Well its been a interesting few months for NAG thus far. We have been doing our photo shoots for the up coming calendar at many venues and events. We have tried to make a point of doing a photo shoot alongside playing an event the following day so the girls get to spend time together on and off the field.
So far since our last update we have attended:
Elite Airsoft Essex CQB Killhouse opening
Stirlings OP: Red Tide ,
Stirling’s Battlefield & PSD training,
Platoon Stores Snipertraining day at Fort Ammurhurtst,
Shadowopz Airsoft’s Combat Mission.
We had our own stand at War and Peace. This was a very interesting week, made some great friends and recruited some great girls.
then off to Senny bridge for the Bamako Bampots / The uprising charity weekender, this was ace and for a great cause.
Then in August Airsoft Billericay Photo shoot & Airsoft Essex hitakers day,
Then the AWA Uban Game, a large hospital complex we used this on the previous day as a location for a photo shoot.
Girls have attended Pressure point Training with Platoon stores training team
We have our own weekender for November planned at Elite Action Games site in Dorking, a matter of getting our mates together to have some fun before we calm things down for winter and concentrate on our training schedule and then we will be off to MilSim UK for the day where they will be putting on a free event for our members.
Revolutionaries harking from Bristol, descended upon the lands of the south, the morning crisp, cold and good spirited, dressed in black and ready to attack.
Teething problems at the start of the day did not hamper my fun as we Bristolian’s decided to rank up the aggression and play in our normal lucid crazy Celtic style.
Our “Army of Two” managed to defend our position from attack from all sides, but most importantly the banter was good, it was fun, and full of good sportsmanship.
My first thoughts as I booked the airsoft game were Christ what the hell am I doing….why on earth would a girl want to play airsoft?? I mean its a mans domain big butch military type men were the image I had of airsoft gamers not blondes with false nails and a love of high heels. How wrong could I be? Well as it turns out very wrong. Ok so it’s still a male dominated environment but there is an uprising of women taking part in the sport thanks to the NAGS (National Airsoft Girls).
I had been lucky to have been put in contact with Christina the founder of the NAGS and she, like most of us women out there was supportive and took me under her wing she gave me advice on all aspects of playing my first airsoft game.
The plan was to meet with some of the NAGS the day before for the calendar shoot and camp out overnight. All of this had been arranged by the NAGS all I had to do was pay for the campsite on arrival and pay for the airsoft game brill so no feeling like an idiot when asked if I was on the Black DPM team or the Dessie Combat team (I would not of had a clue!!).
AWA NAG Away day Romford Essex
Upon meeting the NAGS I was made to feel like a valued member of the team they helped me with the preparation of my gun, helped by showing me room clearing techniques and never once talked down to me or made me feel stupid for asking well stupid questions. My husband had turned up just to watch and see what airsoft was about but he soon caught the bug he had no gear, no gun and no idea about airsoft whatsoever but the NAGS managed to kit him out and provide him with everything he would need.
On the big day we turned up and of course there were blokes everywhere had I been alone I would have been very intimidated but I turned up with the NAGS and boy can a group of girls walking into an airsoft game turn heads. We got down to sorting our kit out filling guns with gas, loading with bb’s, getting the pressure measured on the guns and then this was it I was going to play my first game.
Now somewhere on the way from the safe zone to the hospital where the game was being held these grown men and myself seemed to revert to being 12 year old kids again only this time we weren’t playing with sticks we had proper guns…when the marshall yelled GO adrenaline took over, there was hiding in cupboards, tripping over chairs, grenades, so much laughter that I got a stitch and not once did any of the men make me feel like an inferior player and guess what I did snap a nail well actually it got shot of!
This is to help the charity promote there wear the fox hat competition and to raise funds for this charity. We are providing the girls for the photo shoot and also helping promote the cause on the website and whenever possible.
First experience of Airsoft By Marshall and top airsoft player Natasha From Elite Airsoft Dorking/Epsom/Worthing www.eliteactiongames.com
Wearing an oversized tri-colour jacket and facemask, I was nervously lead into the dark, subterranean world of the Epsom Tunnels.
Bursting with testosterone and the hollow echoing of spent rounds, I had entered a whole new unfamiliar community.
Laden with armaments and a whole other assortment of trinkets, the safe zone was filled with the green, brown and black of the predominant British Soldier 95 camouflage.
Behind the various face masks and assorted cameo, was the bored professional looking to blow off some steam after the grind of the 9-5 slog, the overenthusiastic teen who has finally found a way to actively rebel and the most common of all, the loyal Airsofter who loves legally being able to shoot people and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process! One thing became abundantly clear – I had entered a man’s world.
But it’s fair to say I had been bitten by the bug.
Soon after I found myself groping a MP5 and staring starting to realize what the attraction of this sport is down the sight at my garden fence. I was determined to inject some oestrogen into a testosterone filled world. Cosmopolitan magazine soon started to be replaced by Blackhawk catalogues and the desire to spend my (I mean my boyfriends) money in Airsoft Armoury became all consuming.
In Airsoft, no gentlemanly doors are held open, or chairs pulled back, once laden with kit, I’ve blended into an Airsoft world and it is just inexorable battle-play and a never ending stream of piss-taking! A refreshing concept especially when you hear the immortal screams of another Systema victim! Ladies, who needs painkillers, this sport is an excellent cure for PMT!
Does it hurt? Well yeah, of course although it depends where you get hit. I have to say a few well placed rounds striking the buttocks or breasts have been more intimate than some first dates! Needless to say offending players have been targeted thereafter, and yes ladies even the toughest of men can scream like little girls!
These days when I enter a CQB or woodland environment, I am self assured in my appearance, ability and the reliability of my own rig and the masterpiece that is the Systema PTW M4A1 2008 CQB – now mine much to the annoyance of my other half (well he wanted me to get involved!). I say its long overdue, us ladies need to ditch the “oh my god I’ve broke a fingernail” mentality, don some camo and start shooting amongst the boys. It is definitely time to inject some glamour into Airsoft!!
Su Haddrell who has an interesting view on things -:
When Christina first approached me about NAG, I enthusiastically said I’d be up for supporting that because I think any subsection of Airsoft that can be promoted is a good thing. The Inner Me said ‘err, why?’ So since then I’ve sort of half hearted kept abreast of the events and the situation but not really been too involved.
Following a chat with Christina, I started thinking about it a bit more seriously. Ok, so personally I’ve never felt the need to shout from the roof tops “Hey! I’m a girl playing Airsoft!” But theres something to be said for getting new people into the sport. It’s a very word of mouth hobby. Guys into guns or role playing trip over it by accident on the internet and take it from there. Friends get other friends into it. If they’re really lucky guys get their girlfriends into it. But it’s not something girls really go out of their way to look for when they think – I need to get out and do something fun.
So what is NAG to me? Why do I believe we need an all girls team when I’ve said I don’t see the point? The answer is marketing. We primarily recruit for this hobby by networking. Imagine every girl player in the UK wearing a NAG patch. It becomes an identity. You get a bunch of players coming to the game and the girls are wearing NAG patches then you KNOW they’re as into it as you are. ?
Situated in the Essex Countryside yet only 10 minutes from junction 29 of the M25 Skirmish Airsoft, Billericay is only 20 minutes from East London. They are only 5 minutes from Basildon and 15 minutes from Chelmsford.
The site has around 40 acres of woodland, with its own unique features for players to enjoy, from its very own sand bag bunker called hill 60, to a Vietnam style village as two of its main features this site has a lot to offer.
It also features an on site cafe which will provide you with a well needed burger or hot dog at lunch time, a safe zone with benches to sort out kit and weapons and an on site shop. The site Marshals are also very friendly and there is a great amount of banter between them and the players.
The site runs walk on days, where players can turn up and play, and rookie days where new players are able to get a feel for the sport, game fees are fairly cheap as site go as well, £17 for new members and for site members £15 for a days fun and gaming.
The site was also used by Airsoft Essex hit takers who run regular games there and are dedicated to designing new games, and promoting fair play within the sport. Games are run in the paintballs Alamo when it’s not in use by the paintballers and it has a flood light system so games can be played at night, and also Burton’s bridges (three bridges over a small stream that runs through the site), named after the late Pete Burton a dedicated Airsoft player.
Overall this is a brilliant site for new and experienced players and has a lot to offer players; there is a great atmosphere and general all round feel of sportsmanship on the site
I thought be a good idea to explain what went on this weekend just gone with regards to the training.
We arrived at Stirlings Coventry base on Saturday night and met our fellow attendees, all of whom were great guys.
The accomodation wasnt to bad either. I was glad to get a cuppa after having a bit of trouble finding the place as it was a bit out in the sticks. Its based at the Nat Agricutrual Centre which was kinda cool, even had Farmers weekly there lol.
Up bringht and early and packing up all our kit we drove down to the training facility to be surrounded by SAS like men in their black kit, tbh was a really good turn out I’d say about 30 odd guys were there. 16 I knew were to be expected as per prior arrangements made with John from the Rangers and including myself and the girls.
We started off around 9:30 AM being split into groups and walked around the building we were about to be trained in . it was a three story office block with glass windows and a few fair sized rooms on each floor.
We started off with the general walk through with will , we seperated in to two smaller teams, with a team of 10 and another of 4. The larger team took the left hand section of the lower floor and the smaller team the right hand side and stairwell up to our LOE point.
We started by stacking up outside, weilding shields ( some as big as me )
and then proceeded into the building ::
To then clearing that area to go thru to the stair well area
to our final LOE point
Feedback from Stirling
On behalf of stirling airsoft ltd, we would like to thank those who attended the CRW hostage rescue training day, we hope your experience with us was an enjoyable one, everyone took part with the right attitude & approach.
I know for some it was an “in at the deep end approach”, its hard to cover every aspect in a morning’s training & we wanted to give you the mission experience in the afternnon too.
The training was followed by a mini mission to put all your training into use, & hopefully you got to see how your training works, and that you enjoyed your experience.
big thanks to ETS for their role as Opfor! excellent job!
dino as O.C. for all the eagle units! its a stressful job especially making sure everyone is tasked & on track, intel is gathered & acted upon, well done dino, and alex & mike for your help in the Ops room.
Harry the negiotiator, well done mate on that, what may seem like an easy job can become stressfull.
to all the eagle call signs for your mission success well done.
and for those wondering what the hell was goin on in the Ops tent after the mission, As stated in the brief the intel that was gained from our previous combat mission was used in the mission you carried out, we followed that up at the end with some action, and it was filmed for the DVD, so it was wrapping things up from our end!
thanks again to everyone
hope to see you at more of the training days & our events be it a combat mission or a game weekend.

I can see the point about “why should there need to be NAG or a move to push more females into the sport”
This is a very good point.. yes airsoft is for both male and female players, NAG just wants to help the exsisting female players and also new recruits to communicate, support and improve the gameplay.
I found it slightly intemidating when I first started by being surrounded by a mass of men..but with time I got used to it… but still there was something missing..comraidship.. the guys didnt have a problem of me joining them during the game and I am a welcomed part of a large team of 30 odd guys that attend big events here in the U.K.
When your out on the field its amazing and inspiring to watch team formations moving stealthy thru the game, accomplishing tasks and working as a group.
This dosent come over night this is from many months training but also socialising, when you communicate outside the airsoft site you get to know your fellow team mates so well you build up that trust and comraidship…
Some ladies may find this a challenge, I thought personally it was a good idea to try to help assist this by having the website, forum and training schedules. It started off as a much smaller idea of me getting a few more females to join me at my local site but its now become something much bigger.
Many girls are really happy that NAG is there, its comforting that there will be a friendly face there to help support and get you thru your first few skirmishes and help give you advice on what gun to buy or what sort of loadout (I choose certain products as I know its easier to wear and play a game in because its suitable for a girls body).
I personally have gone out of my way to help girls who were “interested” into doing airsoft, to providing them with loadouts and guns, taking them to a site and showing them the ropes..these are girls who would have otherwise not dared to just turn up at a site by themselves or with another friend. I know some of my other girls have done this also. It has provided these newbies a sense of “belonging” to something and then they have come along week after week.
For the more experience girl airsofters I know we benifit from teaching each other tactics, or just generally have a laff about airsoft, just as you guys do no different. Some girls maybe interested in having training and pushing themselves harder in the sport by learning tactics but just dont have the facilities or contacts to do so, so were helping facilitate that. I have become more confident as a person since starting to play airsofting, my fitness and strength has improved and its also given me something to be proud of. The people I talk to about it are genuinely impressed with how realistic the weapns are and how accurate the training can be.
I know my other half was comforted by the fact that I was going to catterick with a few other girls when we went for the Scotland vs England game, as there were 150 other guys there too, its a fact of life, us ladies have families also and having to fit airsoft around a busy homelife, its nice to have someone else there to talk to about these sort of things too. I have found Airsoft to be more than a sport but more of a way of life..you find yourself driving around in the car, seeing a derelict building thinking “oh that would be great for CQB” or like my two little ones ( who are just as mad about airsoft as me ) turning into a female version of Bare Grylls and taking them down the woods to make a mini site for the to let some steam off in.
NAG is a good thing, im not out to proove a point or to become a sufferagete movement amongst airsoft theres loads of girls out there and have been out there for some time, and maybe NAG isnt for every girl but the posistive responses I have had and the smiling faces I see on the girls after a good day skirmishing/milsiming makes it worth all the hours spent training, researching and speaking to fellow airsofters all worth it.
Its not been an easy task so far but thank you to the support I have been given it certainly helps us girls continue
well thats my rant over, im happy to reply to any of your questions or hear any type of comment..I love a good healthy debate..especially about something I am passionate about..
Stirling Airsoft England Vs Scotland Game Catterick Garrision (Dec 2008)
Catterick Garrison (Dec 2008)
This was a two day game located at Catterick Garrison in their OBUA, (Operations in built up areas) facilities.
This was the Stirling’s England vs Scotland 2008 Event. This was a fantastic event. We attended alongside the guys from our local site, Shadowopz in Kent. The girls worked well as a small team and were part of a Rapid Response force. Tasked on the site to provide support to areas which were attacked and hold areas to gain points. The game had been based on a points system where certain areas of the site where made targets, and value assigned. We would need to gain access and clear and secure these areas of enemy forces for an hour, at each hour we would gain points. England won and we were very happy to have a tea after such a demanding, but successful weekend.

This was an event run by the renound Sterling Airsoft and was a non stop mission from game on to end ex where we played along side and against some of the best teams in the country. Quad bikes, night vision, Mortars and other exciting tools were used in this event that only served to heighten the realism and experience shared by all.
The game was based on a tactical role play where the capture of Intel and prisoners furthered the campaign at large.
One of my most memorable experiences, was leading my girls alongside 10 other men in an early dawn Raid against a dug in stronghold.
